You might think that the only place you can organize your icons is when using iTunes. But its also possible on your device as well. Simply Tap and hold on any program icon until all the icons start to wobble (And have an x symbol on the left hand side of there picture). Then let go tap and hold a program icon you would like to move. It will appear larger and become greyed out. Now simply move it around the screen to where ever you want it to go and be seen. Let go and it will drop into place, moving all the icons after it along and down one space. If you want to go to a different screen entirely with it, move to the very edge of the screen and the next set of icons will slide into place. To exit wobbly mode just press the home button.
If your running short of space and cant wait until hooked up to iTunes to delete some apps, do it on the move. Tap and hold on any program icon to cause them to all wobble and an "x" will appear on the left hand side of the icon itself. Tap the "x" for the app you want to remove then tape Delete to erase it. Press the home button to exit. The program will still be stored on your computer so before your next Sync, remember to also deleted the app from within your iTunes or it may be copied back onto your iPhone or iTouch. If you delete the app in iTunes while is it still on the device, at the next sync youll be asked if you want to transfer a purchase back to iTunes. Answer no and it will be deleted from the device as well.
The default images that come with your iPhone or iTouch for your background both your home screen and lock screen are fine but you can change these to whatever you like making your iPhone or iTouch to look like yours or make it look like yours. Time to add some custom wallpaper and really make your device look amazing. Go to your Photo album for your iPhone and iTouch, you want a portrait oriented picture. For the iPad its a bit trickier because the image will rotate with the screen, so it needs to be something that works both ways. Having found the image you want, tap on the curled arrowed key and select use as wallpaper. Move the image to fit the screen and zoom in and or out as required, tap on set (iPhone/iTouch). You can no set as the lock screen, or home page or both. So you can have different images for your lock screen and home page if you would like.
Whether you use an iPhone iTouch or iPad 1 and 2. The contact book is a great asset to have on a mobile device. To add a new contact just tap on contacts on the home screen to launch the app. Tap on the plus sign in the top tirght hand corner of the screen. Fill out the name and address and all the other details you may have for that contact. Like address or location, email, etc. Youll be able to use these directly depending on which device you have iPhone iTouch iPad 1 and iPad 2. Theres also a slot for the photo thumbnail in which is a cool feature allowing you to see whos calling or match names with faces. After adding the contact and all there information you can call, email, or go to the website of the contact youve entered.
There are two ways of setting up three types of mail. One uses the iTunes for the outlook mail and the other is based on the device itself for either Microsoft exchange, business mail, or webmail from MobileME, Google, Yahoo, AOL, Etc. Lets look at how you add a webmail service. Go To Settings/Mail, Contacts, Calendars and tap on add account. From the selection, choose which webmail service you want. They all follow the same procedure/process. Now enter your name that the service uses and most importantly your email address and password. Then add a short description of it. Tap on done and the mail service will be verified. Tap on Save to configure to sync. When you go to the mail program now you will have a new mailbox. Tap on it to get to your mail now.
